Hon. BJ Sponsors ‘Catch Them Young’ Debate On Okin 105.7 FM A House of Assembly Aspirant for Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon. Abdulrauf Bolaji Dauda, popularly known as Hon. BJ, has announced his sponsorship of the Catch Them Young Debate Competition. The sponsorship covers logistics, studio sessions, refreshments, and prizes, and more. The Competition is an educational radio programme aimed at promoting learning and intellectual engagement among secondary school students. The debate, which will air live on Okin 105.7 FM, Offa, is scheduled to run every Saturday from October 11 to October 25, 2025, between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. Organised by Adeyemo Halimat Toyosi, the three-week competition will feature students from schools across the constituency, providing a platform for young people to express themselves, think critically, and engage in meaningful discussions on societal issues. Speaking about his decision to support the initiative, Hon. BJ said his motivation stemmed from a desire to give back to society and to promote education as a tool for personal and community transformation. “The future of any community lies in its young people. By encouraging debate, we’re not just promoting public speaking; we’re teaching students to think, reason, and lead. This is an investment in the leaders of tomorrow,” he said. The programme will span three weeks, culminating in a grand finale where scholarships and educational prizes will be awarded to outstanding participants. Prizes to be awarded include scholarships for eight students, calculators, notebooks, and other learning materials for the top four contestants. Halimat Toyosi commended Hon. BJ for his swift response and generosity, describing his gesture as “a huge morale booster” for both the students and the organisers. “Hon. BJ’s support shows he truly values education. His intervention has made it possible for us to reach more schools and inspire more young minds. We’re excited about the impact this programme will have on the students,” she said. The Catch Them Young Debate is one of the few radio-based educational programmes in Kwara South designed to engage students in intellectual contests, fostering creativity, discipline, and a spirit of healthy competition.

Investiture Ceremony of 8th President, Rotary Club of Offa Cosmopolitan Postponed to November 1 The Investiture Committee has announced the postponement of the official investiture ceremony of Prince Adekola Mubarak Tadenikawo (FBB), the 8th President of the Rotary Club of Offa Cosmopolitan, earlier scheduled to hold this month (October 18, 2025). According to an official notification released by the committee, the ceremony will now take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, while the venue and time remain unchanged. The statement also informed that registrations for goodwill messages will close on October 15, 2025, urging all invited guests and stakeholders to take note of the new date. “We apologize for any inconvenience this postponement may cause,” the committee added.
