The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the release and distribution of Certificates of Exemption for the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II graduates to all corps-producing institutions nationwide.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Friday, the management of the scheme disclosed that the certificates have been produced and dispatched to the respective schools for onward collection by qualified graduates.
The NYSC also reminded institutions and graduates of its standing policy on certificate management, emphasising that all unclaimed Certificates of Exemption must be returned to the scheme’s headquarters within six months of delivery.
According to the announcement, the six-month countdown commenced on October 6, 2025, meaning any unclaimed certificate after that date would be retrieved in accordance with NYSC’s guidelines.
The post read in part:
“The 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Certificates of Exemption have been produced and delivered to Corps Producing Institutions (CPIs) nationwide. In line with the Scheme’s policy on the return of all unclaimed Certificates of Exemption by the schools six (6) months after delivery, the countdown is with effect from 6th October, 2025.”
The exemption certificate is issued to Nigerian graduates who, by age or other statutory reasons, are exempted from the mandatory one-year national service.
The NYSC urged all eligible graduates to liaise with their institutions for prompt collection to avoid complications or loss.
The management further reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and efficiency in certificate management, assuring institutions of continuous support in the discharge of their responsibilities under the scheme.
