The Kwara State Police Command has debunked reports circulating on social media alleging that a female police officer serving in the state was kidnapped and murdered. The command described the story as “false, misleading, and intended to cause unnecessary panic among residents.”
In a statement issued today, Saturday, 11th October 2025, by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the command clarified that there was no record of any female officer missing or abducted in any of its divisions across the state.
“The command wishes to state unequivocally that the report is not only false but also misleading, with the intent to cause panic in the state. There is no Ogidi Police Division in Kwara State, as claimed in the viral posts,” the statement read.
SP Ejire-Adeyemi advised members of the public to disregard the false report and warned against the spread of unverified information capable of causing fear and undermining public confidence in security agencies.
“The spread of such misinformation is not only harmful to reputations but also distressing to individuals and the people of Kwara State. We urge the public and media outlets to refrain from sharing sensational or unverified content that may incite panic,” she said.
She assured residents that under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, psc, mnips, the command remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting lives and property, maintaining peace, and collaborating with other security agencies to ensure the safety of all citizens.
