The Deputy Leader of the Senate and lawmaker representing Kwara South senatorial district, Architect Oyelola Yisa Ashiru*, has urged Nigerians to uphold unity and peace as the nation celebrates its *65th Independence Day anniversary.
In his message of felicitation, Ashiru emphasized the importance of maintaining Nigeria’s status as an indivisible entity, encouraging citizens to protect the country’s unity.
“Nigeria has come a long way as one indivisible entity, which every citizen must work to protect,” Ashiru said. “We must continue to live as brothers and sisters, irrespective of our differences in ethnic and religious beliefs. It is only when we live together in peace that we can work together to develop the country.”
The Deputy Senate Leader also acknowledged the security challenges facing Kwara South and reassured citizens of ongoing efforts to restore peace and sanity to the district. He reaffirmed that the safety and well-being of the people remain a top priority, citing collaboration between government agencies, community leaders, and security operatives as key to addressing the menace.
“As we mark our country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, I urge everyone to remain steadfast, united, and prayerful. Together, we will overcome these challenges and restore peace and development to Kwara South and Nigeria as a whole,” Ashiru concluded.
