
The first phase of the quiz competition sponsored by Hon. Abdulrauf Bolaji, popularly known as Hon. BJ, a Kwara State House of Assembly aspirant for Eesa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency, has been successfully concluded.
The event, held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Okin 105.7 FM, Offa, Kwara State brought together six secondary schools, Tawakalitu Secondary School, Taoheed Secondary School, Government Day Secondary School, Moremi High School, Iyeru Grammar School, and Nawarudeen Secondary School to test their knowledge in English Language, ICT, and History, with a special focus on Offa’s heritage and governance.
At the end of the first phase, two schools emerged as winners and qualified for the next stage of the competition.
According to the anchor of the program, Adeyemo Halimat Toyosi, declared that the intellectually stimulating contest will span three weeks, featuring 16 schools across the constituency.
The second phase, billed for next week, will feature Ansarul Islam, Ansar-Ud-Deen, Olalomi High School, Nawarudeen (Olohunkuse), and ACC, with two more schools expected to secure spots in the grand finale.
The final round, scheduled for October 25, 2025, will determine the overall champions where the first, second and third winners will be selected.
Moreover, Hon. BJ has pledged scholarship awards for all participants, with additional prizes for the first, second, and third-place winners.
“Today’s contest revealed a noticeable gap in students’ understanding of local governance and history,” Adeyemo noted. “This initiative seeks to rekindle their passion for learning while deepening their sense of community and civic awareness.”
Hon. BJ is expected to grace the grand finale, where he will engage with the students and deliver a goodwill message emphasising the importance of education, community development, and youth empowerment.
