Speaking shortly after his assumption of office, Dr. Agunbiade expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in him and pledged to usher in a new phase of growth, discipline, and transformation within the department.

He promised physical and academic improvements, including training and reorientation programmes for both staff and students.

“The students should expect a new management style with fresh ideas and higher standards of discipline. I also seek their support because, without students, there can be no lecturers. I will commit myself to the physical transformation of our department, the facelift of its structures, and the introduction of academic and professional trainings,” he said.

Dr. Agunbiade further announced plans for an orientation exercise for both new and returning students at the start of the new academic session.

In his manifesto titled “A New Era of Excellence and Unity,” Dr. Agunbiade outlined his vision to reposition the Department of Business Administration through transparency, collaboration, and strategic academic leadership.

His development plan is built on five core pillars:

1. Unity and Transparency – fostering fairness, inclusiveness, and open communication in departmental operations.

2. Staff Growth and Development – creating platforms for mentorship and continuous professional advancement.

3. Academic Excellence and Student Discipline – strengthening mentorship, enforcing discipline, and innovating the curriculum.

4. Institutional and Community Engagement – building stronger ties with the Polytechnic management and the host community.

5. Strategic Development and Collaboration – enhancing inter-departmental synergy and promoting research partnerships.

Dr. Agunbiade holds degrees spanning B.Sc., PGDE, MBA, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Business Administration, with specialisation in Human Resource Management and Operations Management.

He has over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and administration.

He has served the institution in various capacities, including Sub-Dean, Examination Officer, Assistant Part-Time Coordinator, and a member of key academic committees such as the Central Examination Committee and Internal Quality Assurance Unit.

Dr. Agunbiade reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership, integrity, and progress.

“My administration will build on the legacy of our predecessors and work towards unity, openness, and continuous improvement. Together, we will make the Department of Business Administration a model of excellence,” he said.
