As schools across Kwara State prepare to reopen, the Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation has reiterated its commitment to supporting the state’s education sector, with a particular focus on underprivileged students.
Executive Director of the Foundation, Mr. Saheed Lawal, in a statement on Monday, September 22, said the organization remained resolute in its mission to partner with government schools to ease the burden on parents and pupils.
“As schools resume, we are steadfast in our mission to support government-owned schools by providing relief to indigent students. Over the last two years, our Foundation has consistently intervened in the education sector through initiatives such as payment of school fees, scholarships, and sponsorship of WAEC examinations,” he said.
According to him, education has remained a top priority for the Foundation, stressing that no child should be denied the opportunity to learn due to financial constraints.
He added, “Our doors are always open to disadvantaged students who truly need assistance in overcoming the barriers to education. We equally encourage school administrators to continue to partner with us in the fight against illiteracy and in the promotion of literacy across Kwara State.”
The Foundation, founded by philanthropist Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, has over the years launched several social impact programmes targeted at education, health, and welfare support for vulnerable groups within the state.
