Uncertainty Trails Skit Maker Sanku’s Fate After Auto Crash

The entertainment industry was thrown into confusion yesterday following reports that popular skit maker and comedian, Sanku, was involved in a ghastly auto crash along the Oyo–Ogbomoso Expressway.

The accident, which occurred at Oolo village, left the internet buzzing with conflicting claims over the comedian’s fate. While some of his colleagues, including Abdulateef Tojubole, Orilabi, and Baby of TikTok, took to social media to announce his passing, others maintained that Sanku was still alive but in critical condition and in need of prayers.

Eyewitnesses said his vehicle veered off the road while in motion and somersaulted into a ditch. A disturbing photo from the crash scene, showing the entertainer lying motionless by the roadside, quickly went viral and further heightened anxiety among fans.

He was said to have been rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Ogbomoso for urgent medical attention. However, as at press time, neither his family nor the hospital had issued an official statement confirming his condition.

The uncertainty has since sparked an outpouring of emotions across social media platforms. While some admirers posted tributes, others appealed for restraint, urging Nigerians to suspend judgement until credible information emerges.

For many fans, Sanku’s brand of raw, streetwise humour made him a household name in the skit-making space. News of his reported death or possible survival has therefore left the public in limbo — a situation that underscores both the fragility of life and the speed at which rumours travel in the digital age.
