President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday arrived in Lagos for a working visit, as the nation prepares for a modest celebration of its 65th Independence Anniversary.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, the President flew into Lagos after attending the coronation of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, in Oyo State.
While in Lagos, Tinubu is expected to hold strategic meetings with key players in the private sector as well as senior government officials. His engagements, the Presidency explained, form part of efforts to align economic policies with the realities on ground and chart a path towards sustainable recovery.
The President is also scheduled to commission the remodelled National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, as part of the activities marking this year’s Independence Anniversary.
Beyond Lagos, Tinubu is billed to travel to Imo State on Tuesday, where he will inaugurate projects completed by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
The Presidency said the visit reflects Tinubu’s “hands-on” approach to governance and his commitment to strengthening collaboration between federal and state governments as Nigeria faces pressing economic and social challenges.
