Lucky-Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has come under heavy fire from human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, who described him as one of the “worst governors” in Nigeria.

Sowore, convener of the #TakeItBack movement, took to his verified social media page at the weekend to lampoon the governor after a video surfaced showing him dancing energetically at an event in Akure, the state capital.

In his post, Sowore dismissed Aiyedatiwa as “empty and fleeting,” likening his performance in office to the frivolous dance.
“One of the worst governors Nigeria has ever had is Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, not because he is dancing, but because he has nothing to offer. Empty and fleeting, just like the dance itself,” Sowore wrote.

But the governor’s camp swiftly responded. Yomi Oyekan, a senior aide to Aiyedatiwa, wasted no time in firing back, accusing Sowore of being a serial attention-seeker with little political relevance.

“Mr. Sowore, it’s time to stop the charade. You thrive on drama, hashtags, failed protests and arrests. That is the sum of your political career—loud but inconsequential,” Oyekan declared.

He further argued that Sowore had mistaken noise for influence, adding that history had already judged him harshly.
“Keep shouting from the sidelines if that consoles you, but do not confuse attention with relevance. The verdict is clear—you failed the test,” Oyekan said.
