The Deputy National Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Timothy Osadolor, has called on President Bola Tinubu to tender an apology for suspending Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday, Osadolor faulted the President’s declaration of emergency rule in Rivers, insisting that the action was unconstitutional and a threat to Nigeria’s democratic framework.

He accused the President of overstepping his authority and undermining the principle of separation of powers.

“Yes, I think the President is overreaching when I read the last paragraph of his speech, where he spoke to governors as if he were a headmaster in a classroom.

“He should apologise. I felt he should understand fully well that there is a clear division of powers,” Osadolor said.

The PDP youth leader further warned that Tinubu’s decision set a dangerous precedent that could weaken democratic institutions if left unchecked.
