The National President of the Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union (FIBSU), Aare Giwa Kamorudeen Olawale, has extended heartfelt felicitations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, as the revered monarch marks his 81st birthday.
In a goodwill message on behalf of the union, Aare Giwa described Oba Ladoja as “a custodian of Ibadan heritage, whose journey from politics to the throne embodies resilience, wisdom and service to humanity.”
He noted that Oba Ladoja’s life remains a source of inspiration to Ibadan indigenes and students alike, stressing that his reign symbolises unity, progress and cultural pride.
“Oba Ladoja is not only a statesman of uncommon repute, having served Oyo State as Governor and the nation as a Senator, but also a father-figure whose ascension to the throne rekindles our hope in a prosperous Ibadanland. His 81st birthday is more than a celebration of age; it is a celebration of legacy, vision, and continuity of tradition,” the statement read.
The FIBSU National President further expressed optimism that the coronation of Oba Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan—scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025—will usher in renewed vigour for cultural preservation, youth empowerment, and development in Ibadanland.
He added: “On behalf of Ibadan students across the globe, we salute His Imperial Majesty and pledge our continued loyalty to the throne. May his reign bring forth peace, harmony and prosperity to all sons and daughters of Ibadan.”
