The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has fixed Monday, September 8, 2025, as the commencement date for registration of prospective corps members under the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II.
The announcement was made on Thursday through the official X handle of the scheme. However, the management did not disclose the closing date for the exercise.
Established in 1973 by the administration of General Yakubu Gowon, the NYSC remains a unifying platform for Nigerian graduates. Conceived as part of post-civil war reconciliation efforts, the scheme was designed to promote national cohesion and integration.
The programme makes it mandatory for graduates of tertiary institutions below the age of 30 to serve the nation for one year. During the service year, participants are deployed outside their states of origin, fostering unity and cross-cultural understanding across the federation.
