Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone C, has commended Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for approving fresh bursary awards for indigent students in the state.

Deputy Coordinator of NANS Zone C, Comrade AbdulAzeez Abiola Adigun, in a statement, described the move as another demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to youth welfare and educational development.

He noted that the bursary increment is the second under AbdulRazaq’s administration, raising the undergraduate bursary from ₦5,000 to ₦20,000 per student, and the Law School scholarship from ₦50,000 to ₦200,000 per student.

According to him, the development will ease the financial burden of thousands of Kwara students while motivating them to excel academically.

Comrade Adigun also applauded the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Matters, Hon. Salami Abdulwasiu Damilare, for his proactive engagement and tireless efforts in ensuring students’ interests are well represented.

He described AbdulRazaq as “a father to students and a students-centric leader,” stressing that the latest intervention further confirms his reputation as one of the most student-friendly governors in the country.
