NAF Pounds Hostile Elements In Kwara Operations

The Nigerian Air Force on Monday said its air component under Operation Fansan Yamma Sector 3 carried out a series of coordinated strikes against hostile elements across parts of Kwara State.

The strikes, which were conducted in Kakihun, Oke-Ode, Babanla and adjoining communities, were aimed at neutralising emerging threats and providing cover for ground troops.

In a statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed that the operations involved reconnaissance and close air support missions. He added that hostile elements sighted east of Babanla were “decisively engaged and neutralised.”

Ejodame noted that surveillance flights also covered critical settlements and military positions, where valuable intelligence was gathered to aid ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations.

“The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to supporting ground forces, safeguarding civilians and maintaining air superiority across theatres of operation,” the statement read in part.

He assured Nigerians of the military’s resolve to defend the nation’s territorial integrity, stressing that sustained air campaigns were designed to weaken hostile actors and restore peace in affected communities.
