Hon. Moshood Adeleke Hails Offa, Oyun, Ifelodun LG Chairmen on One Year in Office The Founder of HMA Foundation and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State Hon. Moshood Adeleke has congratulated the chairmen of the three councils as they mark their first year in office. Adeleke, who is also aspiring for the three Local Government Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency seat in 2027, praised the Executive Chairman of Offa Local Government, Hon. Sulaiman Olatunji Laaro Omituntun; his Oyun counterpart, Hon. Kamaldeen Akanbi; and the Ifelodun LG Chairman, Hajj Abdulrasheed Yusuf, for what he described as “a year of purposeful leadership and people-centred governance.” In a goodwill message released on Thursday, the APC chieftain commended Hon. Omituntun for setting the pace in grassroots development in Offa. Turning to Oyun Local Government, Adeleke praised Hon. Akanbi for what he described as “steady governance with a focus on community needs,” noting interventions in rural infrastructure, market upgrades, and social welfare. On Ifelodun, Adeleke commended Hajj Abdulrasheed Yusuf for keeping the sprawling local government inclusive through educational support programmes, rural electrification drives, and road rehabilitation projects that have improved connectivity across communities. “These three chairmen have collectively demonstrated that grassroots governance can be both impactful and accountable. In just one year, they have shown a resolve to touch lives directly, and that is the essence of democracy,” Adeleke stated. He urged the chairmen not to relent, while calling on residents across the three councils to continue to support their administrations for greater results. Adeleke added that the progress being recorded at the local government level was a reflection of Kwara’s march towards stronger grassroots development, which, according to him, must be sustained through collective responsibility.
