A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ejeh Udeh, has been shot dead by gunmen who invaded his home in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The incident, which occurred around midnight on Monday, threw the Ugboju community into mourning. Witnesses said the assailants, who rode on a motorcycle, waited for the politician to return before striking.
It was learnt that Udeh was attacked right in front of his family. “As soon as he entered his house, they surrounded him and opened fire,” a resident recounted.
His remains have been taken to the morgue at the Otukpo General Hospital.
The Benue State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the killing at press time, but sources said security operatives had begun investigations into the matter.
