A fire outbreak in the early hours of Saturday gutted a tailoring factory in Ibadan, Oyo State, destroying equipment and valuables worth millions of naira.
The incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. at Benjamin, Alabama Junction in the Eleyele axis of Ido Local Government Area. The affected property, a four-bedroom apartment converted into a tailoring factory, was completely consumed by the inferno.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, said firefighters responded promptly after receiving a distress call.
“Our control room received the fire report at exactly 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, 20th September, 2025. Once the location was verified, our team, led by ACFS Bamidele Samsudeen, was dispatched to the scene,” Akinwande explained.
He urged residents to always provide accurate information and to report fire incidents without delay, stressing that quick response is critical in minimising losses.
Though no lives were lost, owners and workers of the tailoring factory were left counting their losses.
