FIBSU Media Director Hails Ladoja As 44th Olubadan

The Director of Media and Publicity, Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union (FIBSU) National Council, Comrade Adesina Quadri Ademola, popularly known as Ọmọ Alakufo, has congratulated their Grand Patron, Oba (Sen.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his enthronement as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Ademola, in his goodwill message, described the coronation as a defining moment in Ibadan’s history, stressing that the installation of the former governor has brought renewed pride, unity and cultural identity to indigenes.

The coronation programme, which began yesterday, is scheduled to span a week, featuring a series of traditional rites, cultural displays and civic engagements to honour the new monarch.

According to Ademola, Ladoja’s ascension to the revered throne goes beyond celebration, as it symbolises continuity of heritage and a beacon of hope for the younger generation.

“This is a celebration that will be remembered for ages. Kabiyesi’s ascension is not only a blessing to Ibadanland but also to Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.

The week-long ceremony has already begun attracting dignitaries, traditional rulers, political leaders and well-wishers from far and near, underscoring the significance of the stool in Yoruba tradition.

Oba Ladoja, a respected statesman and seasoned politician, is expected to leverage his wealth of experience to promote peace, unity and socio-cultural advancement in Ibadanland.
