Bayelsa State will, from October 3 to 5, play host to some of Nigeria’s finest bodybuilders and fitness athletes as the Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Nigeria (ABBFN) stages its flagship competition, the Ultimate Night of Champions.

The event, which will take place at the Chief D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, is being held under the patronage of Governor Douye Diri.

Organisers said the championship will feature categories for bodybuilders, physique athletes, bikini contestants, and fitness models, with more than N2 million in cash prizes and consolation awards up for grabs.

Speaking with journalists, ABBFN President, Elekima Soye, said the competition would also serve as a qualifier for the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) Mr. Universe Championship, scheduled for October 11 in Lagos.

“Top Nigerian bodybuilders, physique athletes, bikini, and fit models will compete at the Yenagoa event. Participation and registration are free, and registration is currently ongoing at www.abbfn.com,” Soye disclosed.

He appealed for broader support, urging both the public and private sectors, corporate organisations, philanthropists, and individuals to come on board as sponsors and partners.

Soye also called on exhibitors and prospective sponsors to contact the organisers, stressing that their involvement would contribute significantly to the growth of bodybuilding and fitness sports in the country.
