Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has removed Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko from her position as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development.
Her dismissal, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement on Monday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
According to Gidado, the move is part of a “minor adjustment” in the composition of the State Executive Council.
“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect. The governor thanks the Honourable Commissioner for her services to the state and wishes her success in her future endeavours,” the statement read.
The latest shake-up follows recent disciplinary actions within the Bauchi State Civil Service. Only last week, the State Civil Service Commission dismissed two senior officials over forgery and falsification of documents, offences that violated Public Service Rule 0327.
Similarly, an education officer was fired on September 11 after being found guilty of sexual harassment.
Governor Mohammed has in recent months repeatedly emphasised his administration’s resolve to uphold discipline, transparency, and accountability in governance.
