There is growing pressure on philanthropist Dr. Audu Musa Idowu to step into active politics, as Fulani communities across Kwara South have called on him to contest for a Senate seat.

The call was made during a recent meeting of Fulani stakeholders from the seven local government areas of Kwara South, where what began as a routine gathering quickly turned into an open declaration of support for Dr. Audu.

For over 18 years, Dr. Audu has been involved in initiatives focused on the welfare of Fulani communities, touching lives through health, education, and livelihood support programmes.

Many at the meeting said his record of selfless service, despite not holding public office, was evidence that he was fit for national representation.

“Dr. Audu is different. We want him to contest for Senate. He doesn’t just talk, he acts. He has been impacting lives since 2006. That’s 19 years of service and development,” one of the Fulani stakeholders declared.

Alhaji Umar Abdullahi, a respected leader in the community, said Dr. Audu had earned their trust through consistent support.
“We’ve known him for a long time, and he has never turned his back on us. He helps without expecting anything in return. What he has done for the Fulani community is immeasurable. We plead with Dr. Audu to consider our demand and contest for Senate. We believe he has the vision, capacity, and mission to lead us to greater heights,” he said.

Also speaking, Alhaja Iyabo Fulani, a prominent voice among the women, stressed that Dr. Audu’s compassion transcends ethnic boundaries.

“Dr. Audu is not Fulani by tribe, yet he cares for us as if he were one of us. His assistance goes beyond what anyone else could do. He is truly God-sent. Dr. Audu, please consider our plea and represent us at the national level,” she said.

The stakeholders argued that their appeal reflects a broader desire for leaders with sincerity, proven service, and a track record of impact outside government.
