2027: ADC Coalition Not A Northern Plot – Tambuwal

Senator Aminu Tambuwal, former Governor of Sokoto State, has dismissed insinuations that the African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led coalition is a northern political project.

Tambuwal, who currently represents Sokoto South in the Senate, made the clarification on Friday while speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme. He maintained that the alliance is a broad-based national coalition cutting across regions and political leanings.

“Is Peter Obi from the North? Is Rauf Aregbesola not from Osun State? Are they not key members of this coalition? So, how can anyone call this a northern agenda?” he queried.

He stressed that Nigerians must seek a change of leadership through constitutional and democratic means come May 29, 2027, insisting that the opposition coalition remains committed to national unity.

Tambuwal also criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, alleging that it has failed to live up to citizens’ expectations.

“It is not cast in stone that President Tinubu cannot be defeated in 2027. The narrative that he is invincible is false and misleading,” he declared.
