
The Honourable Member representing Ojomu/Balogun Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Health and Nutrition in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi, has congratulated Col. Abdulwahab Ademola Lawal-Rabana (Rtd) on his appointment as a member of the Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his message earlier today, Ogunniyi described the appointment as “well-merited.”
He added that Col. Lawal-Rabana’s outstanding track record in both military service and public administration.
A decorated officer of the Nigerian Army Infantry, Col. Lawal-Rabana served the nation for over two decades before transitioning into public policy and governance.
He holds master’s and doctorate degrees in Public Policy from St. Clements University, and is an acclaimed management consultant of repute.
Currently serving as Chairman of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund (ETF), Col. Lawal-Rabana is also a Fellow and governing council member of the Institute of Management Consultants.
His distinguished career includes appointments such as a board member of the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital and leadership roles in the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy, and Development, where he heads the Research Directorate, offering high-level policy advisory to both governmental and non-governmental bodies.
Ogunniyi expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for recognising the competence and integrity of Col. Lawal-Rabana, and commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his support to sons and daughters of the state.
He prayed for the retired military officer’s successful tenure, expressing confidence that his contributions to the NCC Board will yield positive results for national development, particularly in driving access and efficiency in Nigeria’s communications sector.
