The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the temporary shutdown of its online result checker portal for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The regional examination body, in a statement on Wednesday via its official X handle, attributed the disruption to technical issues. It, however, assured candidates that efforts were underway to restore access within 24 hours.
“WAEC hereby informs the general public that the result checker portal, @waecdirect.org, is temporarily shut down due to technical issues,” the statement read.
The Council further appealed for patience, noting that its technical team was “working assiduously to ensure that candidates are able to access their results in the next 24 hours.”
The shutdown comes just two days after the release of the 2025 WASSCE results, which covered examinations conducted between 24 April and 20 June 2025.
