The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, has assured the public that the police are working tirelessly to restore peace in the state.

Speaking during a press conference in Jos, the state capital, on Tuesday, Adesina highlighted the command’s achievements in recent months, including the arrest of armed robbers and the recovery of a fabricated rifle.

“I want to assure you that we, as a command, are doing everything within our constitutional powers to ensure that peace is restored on the Plateau.

“I have also directed the Police Public Relations Officer to immediately release the active response phone numbers of the command’s Management Team, all Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Team Commanders to members of the public to call in any case of emergency,” Adesina said.

The commissioner revealed that the police had arrested three suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on July 27, 2025, in the Bassa Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, identified as Jafaru Sale, Abdulsalam Adam, and Mamuda Musa, allegedly robbed three men of N1,918,000, proceeds from the sale of their cows.

“The suspects have confessed to the crime and are currently under investigation,” the commissioner added

Adesina said the police also recovered a locally fabricated rifle with an empty magazine during a raid on the house of a suspect in Mabudi, Langtang South LGA.

He said the suspect, identified as Kokyak, fled the scene before the police arrived, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.

Adesina expressed gratitude to the members of the press for their support and accurate reporting, which he said has been instrumental in sustaining the fragile peace in the state.

He also thanked the government and people of Plateau State for their support and cooperation with the police.

“We have succeeded in putting an end to the activities of some criminal-minded individuals in our midst whose perception of a decent life is to cause chaos, thereby depriving other innocent citizens of their means of livelihood.

“It is worthy of note that these operational successes are not only a testament to the diligence and commitment of our officers, but also the collaborative spirit of Plateau citizens and the synergetic support from members of other security agencies. For this, I commend you all,” the CP added
