The Nigeria Police Force has extended the deadline for enforcing the tinted glass permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows to 2 October 2025.
Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, approved the extension following a surge in applications on the official portal, reflecting increased public compliance.
In a statement issued on Monday by Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police said the additional time would allow for thorough review of applications to ensure that only eligible and qualified individuals are granted permits, in line with national security considerations.
The Force added that the extension would also facilitate further enhancement of both digital and physical verification processes, to maintain the integrity of the permit system and prevent abuse.
Members of the public were urged to report cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorised processing through the designated complaint channels.
