Panic In Gusau as Restaurant Worker Confesses To Collaborating With Kidnappers

Residents of Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, have been thrown into panic following the emergence of a viral video in which an employee of a popular eatery allegedly confessed to collaborating with kidnappers.

The footage, which circulated widely on social media, featured a staff member of Yan Doto Food Palace—located close to the Zamfara Government House—admitting involvement in recent abductions that unsettled the Mareri area.

The revelation has sparked outrage and fear across the community, prompting swift reactions from civil society organisations and youth groups.

In a statement on Monday, the Zamfara State Youth Association described the development as “deeply disturbing.”

Its president, Alhaji Ibrahim Abba, expressed alarm over the incident, emphasising the psychological impact on residents.

“This revelation has caused serious concern, especially given the restaurant’s proximity to a critical location like the Government House,” he said.
“Many are now questioning how such criminal operations could go unnoticed for so long, right under the nose of the authorities.”

He urged security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS), to launch a thorough investigation into the case and identify potential hideouts or accomplices linked to the syndicate.

The youth leader further advised residents to exercise caution, particularly in public places where suspected criminals may pose as regular workers or customers.

As of press time, security agencies had yet to issue an official statement regarding the confession or any arrests linked to the incident.
