
The Akesin of Ora-Igbomina land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Oladoye Idowu, has called on all sons and daughters of Ora-Igbomina, both at home and in the diaspora, to join him in celebrating the upcoming Ora-Igbomina Day, slated for Saturday, August 30th, 2025.
In a statement issued through his media office, the revered monarch disclosed that preparations are in top gear for the historic 10th edition of Ora-Igbomina Day.
Oba Idowu noted that the annual celebration has continued to serve as a rallying point for indigenes, promoting unity, fostering cultural identity, and providing opportunities for communal development projects. He emphasized that this year’s edition would not only celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Ora-Igbomina but also set the stage for renewed commitment towards the town’s socio-economic growth.
According to him, “Ora-Igbomina Day is a time of thanksgiving, reflection, and projection into the future. I, therefore, urge all my sons and daughters across the globe to make it a priority to return home and be part of this landmark celebration. Together, we can continue to build Ora-Igbomina into a model community.”
The Akesin further expressed appreciation to the planning committee, illustrious indigenes, and friends of Ora-Igbomina who have been contributing tirelessly to ensure the success of the annual celebration. He prayed for journey mercies for all those travelling home for the event and assured them of a colourful, memorable, and impactful celebration.
