The Oloyede Royal family of Obatiwajoye Compound, Offa, Kwara State, has distanced itself from a circulating publication maliciously signed in the name of one “Ibrahim G. Oloyede.”
In a strongly worded disclaimer issued on Wednesday and signed by Al-Hassan Salami Oloyede on behalf of the family, the Oloyede Royal descendants described the alleged signatory as “nonexistent,” stressing that no such person bears the name within their compound.
The family expressed dismay that an impostor could attempt to drag their respected lineage into matters they know nothing about.
“For the avoidance of doubt, there is nobody bearing the name ‘Ibrahim G. Oloyede’ in our family or compound. We find it highly disturbing and mischievous that an impostor would attempt to drag our respected family name into issues we know nothing about,” the statement read.
The family further warned that any individual or group involved in producing, circulating, or sharing such a publication could face legal consequences, as the action amounts to impersonation, defamation, and misrepresentation.
The Oloyede Royal family reaffirmed that they remain completely dissociated from the publication, while urging the public to disregard the said write-up.
