The Honourable Member representing Ojomu Balogun Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi, has felicitated Chief Ganiyu Gboyega Jaiyeola, the Otun Amuludun of Offa, on his 87th birthday anniversary.
In a goodwill message issued today, Ogunniyi, who also chairs the House Committee on Health and Nutrition, described the octogenarian as “a father figure, a down-to-earth personality, and a pragmatic political actor who has left indelible marks in education, politics, and governance in Kwara State.”
Chief Jaiyeola, fondly known as GG Jaiyeola, is a distinguished educationist and administrator.
A product of St. Mark Primary School, Offa, Offa Grammar School, and the University of Lagos, he had a remarkable career as a teacher and administrator, serving in institutions such as Ilorin Teachers College, Government Secondary School Ilorin, Nagarta College Sokoto, and schools in Kaduna and other parts of Northern Nigeria.
He rose to become Deputy Provost of the College of Education, Ilorin, and later retired as the Director-General of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission.
His public service trajectory also included political appointments, notably as a member of the Board of Council of Lokoja Teaching Hospital, Board Chairman of the College of Education, Lafiagi, and Chairman of the Kwara State Primary School Board.
Beyond his professional exploits, Chief Jaiyeola is a respected stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State and a member of the party’s elders’ caucus.
Ogunniyi, while extolling his virtues, noted that the celebrant has over the years contributed significantly to the growth of party politics and governance in the state.
He joined family, friends, and well-wishers in praying for the celebrant’s continued good health and peace of mind.
