The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has presented a donation of N900,000 to the family of one of its officers, Superintendent Corps (SC) Bashir Adamu Jibrin, who was killed in the line of duty.
The State Commandant, Commandant of Corps (CC) Bala Bawa Bodinga, handed over the cash support to the widow of the deceased during an event marking his 100 days in office at the command headquarters in Dutse.
News Bulletin Nigeria recalls that Jibrin was murdered by hoodlums at Shiwarin market, Kiyawa Local Government Area, shortly after he apprehended a notorious suspect on the command’s wanted list.
According to Bawa, the donation was jointly raised by colleagues of the late officer, the Dutse Local Government Council chairman, and a businessman, Alhaji Nura Maigatari Danbahago, who contributed N600,000, N100,000 and N200,000 respectively.
He further pledged personal support, promising to provide the family with N20,000 monthly until the end of his tenure in Jigawa.
Commending the late officer’s dedication, Bawa described him as a courageous and selfless personnel who paid the ultimate price while protecting society. He urged the widow to channel the funds towards the education and welfare of her children, assuring that the command would continue to honour his memory.
Overwhelmed with emotion, the widow expressed gratitude to the NSCDC for standing by the family, vowing to make judicious use of the support.
