A 17‑year‑old Nigerian student, Nafisat Aminu from Yobe State, has emerged as the overall best in English Language at the TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom.
According to the results announced on Monday, Nafisat outperformed competitors from 69 countries, surpassing more than 20,000 participants to clinch the top position in the international competition.
The remarkable achievement has sparked widespread commendation from Nigerians on the social media platform X.
“Nigeria wins again,” user @abbeykool posted, celebrating the feat.
Another user wrote, “We have the best brains here; we dominate anytime we compete.”
Nafisat’s accomplishment comes on the heels of other notable Nigerian successes on the global stage, coinciding with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reward of $100,000 each to the national women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, and the Super Falcons, for their continental triumphs this year.
