The Executive Director of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) representing Kwara State, Bilqis Jumoke Sanni, has joined family members, associates and admirers across the country in celebrating Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, the Mutawali of Ilorin, on the occasion of his birthday.
In a personally signed statement, Sanni paid glowing tribute to the legal scholar and elder statesman, describing him as “a man of deep substance, quiet strength and enduring impact whose life has remained a steady source of inspiration to many.”
Dr. AbdulRazaq, she said, is not only revered for his traditional title as the Mutawali of Ilorin, but also for the values he upholds and the quiet yet profound ways in which he has shaped lives and institutions over the years.
“ For decades, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq had already carved a niche for himself in the legal and academic communities,” Sanni said.
“He is a man who carries his intellect with grace, and his influence with humility. As a legal scholar with a doctorate in law, he has mentored many and upheld the best traditions of the legal profession. But perhaps what is most compelling is his passion for education and human capital development.”
Sanni noted that Dr. AbdulRazaq’s legacy in education is most visibly expressed through Bridge House College in Ikoyi, Lagos, an institution he founded and chairs. The college, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s leading sixth-form schools, stands as a testament to his vision of grooming young minds for global competitiveness.
“Beyond the classrooms and courtrooms, Dr. Alimi is a respected presence in Nigeria’s corporate landscape. He is a boardroom strategist who understands the dynamics of sustainable value and leadership. His quiet yet effective contributions to policy, enterprise and development are deeply admired by those who have worked with him.”
While noting his blood ties to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Sanni was quick to add that Dr. AbdulRazaq’s place in society stands firmly on its own merit.
“He is not just the elder brother of a sitting governor. He is a leader in his own right — deeply respected, widely consulted, and remarkably grounded. He does not seek the limelight, yet his shadow provides shelter for many.”
As he marks another year of life, the NCDC boss expressed her wishes for continued grace, good health and greater fulfilment for the celebrant.
