The Executive Director of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Mrs. Bilqis Sanni, has congratulated retired military officer and policy strategist, Col. Abdulwahab Ademola Lawal, on his appointment as a member of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) board by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

President Tinubu, in a yesterday’s announcement, listed Col. Lawal among the newly appointed members expected to strengthen governance and regulatory oversight in Nigeria’s telecommunications sector.

Bilqis Jumoke Sanni described the appointment as “a reward for decades of selfless service, dedication, and proven leadership.”

He added that “Col. Lawal is a man who has consistently demonstrated integrity, discipline, and vision in every role he has held. His leadership style inspires confidence, and his commitment to national growth is unquestionable. This is the kind of appointment that strengthens public trust in our institutions.”

She further noted that his wide-ranging expertise in military strategy, governance reforms, and policy development would be invaluable to the NCC’s efforts to expand digital inclusion.

“I have no doubt that Col. Lawal will bring his trademark diligence and clarity of purpose to the board. His voice will be a bridge between policy and impact, especially for rural and underserved communities that must not be left behind in Nigeria’s telecom revolution,” she said.

Mrs. Sanni concluded by expressing optimism about the future under his board leadership.

“This is a win for every Nigerian who believes in purposeful leadership. The NCC is getting a man of substance, and I am confident that his tenure will be marked by integrity, progress, and tangible results.
