A 17-year-old student has been expelled from a private school in Thailand’s Uthai Thani province after he violently assaulted his mathematics teacher for refusing to change his test score. The incident occurred on 5 August, after the male student received 18 out of 20 marks in a midterm mathematics examination. Dissatisfied with the grade, he confronted his female teacher, insisting he deserved a perfect score. The teacher explained that while his answers were correct, he had failed to show his working process, which was a requirement for full marks. She further encouraged him to verify her marking approach with other staff members. After consulting with several colleagues who confirmed her methods, the student returned to demand an increase in his score. When the teacher refused, the Grade 11 pupil became agitated, kicked a desk, and left the classroom. He reappeared about 10 minutes later, demanding an apology. When the teacher asked who ought to apologise, the teenager lost his temper and launched a violent attack. In front of about 20 classmates, he repeatedly punched the teacher in the head and chest before delivering a forceful kick. In total, he struck her 17 times. The injured teacher was rushed to hospital, where she was treated for broken ribs, a swollen head, and a bruised eye. She has filed a police report and is expected to provide a full statement to investigators. The student has since been removed from the school, while his parents have reached out to the teacher to apologise for their son’s actions.
