A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Hon. Taofeek Omoabass Mainasara, on Monday, August 4, 2025, extended support to scores of underprivileged residents in the Atari area in Offa LG.
He distributed food items and cash gifts in honour of his late father, Alhaji Bisiriyu Adebayo Abefe Omo Abass.
The outreach, which drew beneficiaries from across Atari and neighbouring settlements, was aimed at providing relief to vulnerable groups, including the aged, widows, and economically disadvantaged persons, many of whom continue to grapple with the rising cost of living and socio-economic hardship.
Though Hon. Mainasara was unavoidably absent at the event, he was ably represented by his brother, Mr. Ismail Ayodeji Omoabass, who supervised the distribution exercise and delivered the family’s message of compassion, remembrance, and continuity of legacy.
Items distributed included packs of Semovita and other essential food items, along with monetary support, given directly to the beneficiaries to help them meet their immediate needs, ranging from daily feeding to healthcare and household upkeep.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Ayodeji Omoabass explained that the gesture was a deliberate tribute to their late father, Alhaji Bisiriyu Adebayo Abefe Omo Abass, whose life was marked by generosity, wisdom, and deep-rooted ties to the community.
“Our father lived a life of service, humility, and care for his people. Today’s outreach is a way to honour his memory by continuing the values he instilled in us—compassion, responsibility, and a deep sense of communal belonging,” he said.
The beneficiaries, visibly moved by the act of kindness, showered prayers and words of appreciation upon the Omoabass family.
Many recounted the family’s long-standing contributions to community development and described Hon. Mainasara as one of the few political figures who never forgets his roots.
One of the beneficiaries said, “we are grateful to the Omoabass family. In times like this, this kind of gesture means a lot to us. We pray that God continues to bless and uplift the family and grant eternal rest to their late father.”
Community elders and local opinion leaders who witnessed the event commended the initiative and encouraged other political stakeholders to emulate the gesture, especially at a time when many vulnerable citizens are struggling to make ends meet.
Hon. Taofeek Omoabass Mainasara, a prominent figure in Kwara politics, currently serves as the State Secretary of the Kwara APC G-16 Movement, a key progressive bloc within the party.
He’s a known grassroots mobilizer and development advocate also the founder of the Mainasara Foundation, a non-profit organisation that focuses on education, social welfare, youth empowerment, and humanitarian services across the state.
His political journey spans more than two decades, cutting across several platforms and positions, with a consistent emphasis on service to the people and inclusive development.
Hon. Mainasara reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the less privileged and building a Kwara State that prioritizes the needs of its people.
“My late father, Alhaji Bisiriyu Abefe Omo Abass, taught me that leadership is not measured by power but by the lives one impacts. His memory inspires every act of service I render, and I will continue to honour that legacy by uplifting others—especially the vulnerable among us,” he stated.
Hon. Taofeek Omoabass Mainasara also took a moment to express deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his commitment to the welfare of the people and his inclusive style of governance.
He commended the governor’s people-oriented policies and developmental strides across the state, describing him as “a leader who truly understands the heartbeat of the masses.”
According to Mainasara, Governor AbdulRazaq’s leadership has inspired many grassroots politicians and community-focused leaders to do more in their localities.
He pledged his continued support for the governor’s administration and the APC’s broader vision for a prosperous Kwara.
Also in his remarks, Mainasara disclosed that the outreach in Atari marked the beginning of a larger empowerment initiative targeting 200 individuals across various communities in the state.
He noted that the programme will run in phases, with subsequent distributions already being planned to ensure wider impact and sustained support for the vulnerable. “This is just the starting point. We are committed to doing more, reaching more people, and ensuring that no one is left behind in our collective journey toward progress and dignity.”
The community outreach in Offa is part of a series of planned interventions by the Mainasara Foundation, with additional programmes expected to roll out in other parts of the state in the coming months.
