The Kunle Buraimoh-KB Foundation has once again demonstrated its commitment to community advancement and educational development with a landmark donation of ₦10 million to the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Osogbo.
The donation, aimed at equipping the university’s Cybersecurity Laboratory, was formally presented during a special ceremony hosted by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Clement Odunayo.
The event marked a milestone in the Foundation’s journey of impact and was attended by notable dignitaries, academics, and traditional leaders.
In attendance was the Ataoja of Osogbo, HRM Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Larooye II, represented by a delegation of high chiefs.
Also present were Hon. Dipo Eluwole, representing the Osun State Commissioner for Education; Justice Adekunle Adeigbe (Rtd.); the Asiwaju of Osogbo; and other eminent personalities.
The event’s organising committee was chaired by Prof. Waheed Babatunde Yahya, while Prof. Grace Oluyemi from the Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, delivered the keynote address.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Toye Adefioye, General Secretary of the Foundation, recounted its impact since its formal launch on September 16, 2023.
He outlined the Foundation’s mission to create opportunities for younger generations to learn, grow, and thrive, while highlighting several philanthropic interventions.
Among the Foundation’s 2023 initiatives were the distribution of school bags, notebooks, pencils, and pens to students in underserved communities in Osogbo and neighbouring towns.
In 2024, the Foundation further extended its support by paying basic examination fees for Junior Secondary School students at Olutimehin Grammar School, Isale Osun, providing free school uniforms to primary and secondary school pupils, and honouring Osogbo’s iconic figures in arts and culture.
In his goodwill message, Prof. Clement Odunayo lauded the Foundation’s generosity and commitment to strengthening education in Osun State.
He called on corporate bodies, stakeholders, and public-spirited individuals to emulate the Foundation’s exemplary gesture.
Founder and Chairman of the Foundation, Mr. Adekunle Buraimoh, reaffirmed his resolve to serve the community, stressing that philanthropy should be a civic responsibility.
He appreciated the Foundation’s management and members for their continuous support in driving its vision.
The event also featured a student debate competition on the topic, “Is Artificial Intelligence (AI) a Blessing or a Curse to Cybersecurity?” Prizes and monetary awards were presented to outstanding participants, further amplifying the Foundation’s support for intellectual engagement among youths.
