A Magistrate Court in Nomansland, Kano, has ordered the remand of one Fauziyya Abubakar over alleged engagement in harmful practices and theft.

Presided over by Magistrate Halima Wali, the court heard that Fauziyya allegedly entered a residence on Lamido Crescent under the pretence of using the toilet, but subsequently sprayed a substance that reportedly left three young girls in the house with severe health complications.

According to the complainant, Mrs Bilkisu, the victims — her two daughters and a neighbour’s daughter — developed unusual symptoms after the incident. One reportedly suffered skin peeling, another experienced hair loss whenever her hair was braided, while the third allegedly began barking like a dog.

The accused is also said to have stolen a used sanitary pad belonging to a woman in the household.

Magistrate Wali declined the defence’s application for bail, citing the critical health condition of the children. The matter was adjourned to 15 September 2025 for continuation of the trial.
