Kano Assembly Suspends Rano LGA Chairman For Three Months

The Kano State House of Assembly has suspended the Chairman of Rano Local Government Area, Naziru Ya’u, for a period of three months, effective 13 August 2025.

Announcing the decision on Wednesday, the Majority Leader and Chairman of the Assembly’s Complaint Committee, Lawan Husaini Dala, said the suspension followed petitions from residents of Rano LGA.

According to Dala, the petitioners accused the chairman of impunity, lack of transparency, and failure to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

He stated that the Assembly resolved to suspend Ya’u to allow for investigations into the allegations and to ensure accountability in local governance.
