The Ibolo Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has announced the commencement of its agricultural land development programme in Ojoku, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority and the Ojoku community, has made available several hectares of land strictly for farming and other approved agricultural purposes.
Speaking on the programme, the President of ICCIMA, Mr. Paul Olagunju, said the move was in line with the Chamber’s commitment to boosting food production, creating jobs, and promoting agribusiness opportunities within Ibolo land and beyond.
“This project is a strategic intervention to encourage commercial farming and to strengthen our local economy through agriculture. We are calling on interested individuals, groups, and organisations to take advantage of this opportunity,” Olagunju said.
Applicants under the arrangement are required to obtain and submit allocation forms at the ICCIMA office on Irra Road, Offa, with a non-refundable registration fee of N5,000.
Successful applicants will be contacted for inspection and allocation, subject to meeting established criteria.
Each allottee may access up to five hectares of land, with the possibility of securing more depending on availability and capacity for effective utilization.
An annual land use charge of N15,000 per hectare is to be paid immediately upon confirmation of allocation.
ICCIMA further disclosed that the land will only be used for annual crop farming or other commercial ventures approved by the Chamber.
Allocations will be reviewed annually, with the Chamber reserving the right to withdraw land where usage is deemed unsatisfactory.
Other provisions of the programme include land clearing services for interested farmers, compulsory membership of ICCIMA, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on proper land usage.
All allottees are expected to commence farming activities within two months of allocation.
The deadline for submission of applications is August 30, 2025.
