Every Handshake Is For Nigeria’s Prosperity, Says Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed that his recent foreign trips are not mere ceremonial gestures but deliberate efforts to secure lasting opportunities for Nigeria’s economic growth and stability.

The President, who returned to Abuja after a 10-day diplomatic tour of Japan, Brazil, and a brief stopover in Los Angeles, United States, said his engagements were anchored on one vision — to unlock prospects that would translate into jobs, trade expansion, and prosperity for Nigerians.

Taking to his official X handle yesterday, Tinubu underscored that every engagement abroad was guided by a singular purpose: to ensure that Nigeria reclaims its rightful place in the global economic arena.

“Every handshake, every agreement, and every meeting is guided by one goal: to secure opportunities that translate into growth, jobs, and prosperity for Nigerians,” the President declared.

He noted that in Tokyo, his administration deepened partnerships that would bring investments in industry, technology, and human capital development. Similarly, in Brasília, agreements were advanced to boost Nigeria’s capacity in trade, agriculture, aviation, and finance.

“These are not promises for the headlines,” Tinubu said. “This is the new Nigeria we are building together — one founded on sustainable reforms that will outlast us, not on empty rhetoric.”

The President stressed that his government’s diplomatic engagements are strategic moves aimed at strengthening investor confidence and repositioning the country as a hub for innovation and enterprise in Africa.

Tinubu’s comments come amid public debate over the cost and frequency of presidential trips abroad. But the President insists that each visit is a seed for long-term prosperity, saying his mission remains to open doors of opportunity that will directly impact the lives of Nigerians at home.
