Dan Iyan of Ilorin Emirate and seasoned engineer, Alh. Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, has officially retired from active public service after decades of impactful contributions to Nigeria’s power and rural development sectors.
Engr. Kale Kawu personally submitted his retirement letter to the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (CFR), who received it with prayers and best wishes for his next chapter.
A renowned electrical engineer and administrator, Engr. Kawu rose through the ranks in the Rural Electrification Agency, where he served in various capacities including Director of Projects, Procurement, and Monitoring & Evaluation.
He is a fellow of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers.
Throughout his career, he earned numerous awards for his dedication, leadership, and service to humanity.
Also bearing the title Hasken Lafiagi, he is respected for his philanthropy, integrity, and mentorship.
Born into the royal Agaka family of Ilorin, Engr. Kawu’s professional journey is marked by academic excellence, spanning technical and managerial fields, and a commitment to nation-building which earned him over 30 awards from civil, youth, religious, and academic institutions across Nigeria.
His retirement marks the end of a distinguished era and the beginning of a new journey of continued impact beyond public service.
