The final chapter of the burial rites of Chief Banji Olawoyin, Bobajiro of Offa, was written yesterday, Friday, August 22, 2025 as his remains were committed to mother earth at the Iyeru Okin African Church Cemetery, Offa, Kwara State.
The solemn interment followed the funeral service held earlier at the African Church, Iyeru Okin Parish, where dignitaries, family members, friends, and associates gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of the late community leader.
Clerics of the African Church, led by senior ministers of the Iyeru Okin Parish, conducted the graveside service with hymns and prayers.
They also urged the congregation to emulate the virtues of humility, generosity, and service which defined Chief Banji Olawoyin’s life.
Amid tears and sober reflection, his casket was lowered into the grave, with family members and dignitaries taking turns to pay their last respects.
Many described the late Bobajiro as a pillar of Offa, a unifying figure, and a man whose footprints in community and human capital development would remain indelible.
The interment was witnessed by a large crowd, including traditional rulers, political leaders, community chiefs, religious leaders, and representatives of various professional bodies who had earlier attended the funeral service.
With the final rites concluded, Offa bade farewell to one of its most illustrious sons, even as tributes continued to pour in for a man whose life was devoted to God, family, and the service of humanity.
