The Executive Chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, Hon. Sunday Ameh Ajunwa, has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Orokam community, following a surge in kidnappings and violent attacks that have claimed several lives in recent weeks.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Ajunwa announced that the restriction of movement would take effect from Sunday, August 17, 2025, and would run daily from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. until further notice.
He explained that the measure was necessary to curb criminal activities, reduce unnecessary night movements, and allow security agencies to intensify patrols and respond swiftly to emergencies.
The chairman appealed to residents to comply with the directive and cooperate with security operatives, stressing that the safety of lives and property remains the administration’s top priority.
