The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of Vic Matt, a film director, executive producer, and manager of Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Bright Morgan.
Vic Matt, whose real name was Victor Tobechukwu Okoli, was reportedly abducted on Friday near Ntachi Osa in Enugu State and later killed by his abductors.
The devastating news was confirmed by filmmaker Ben Cassie, who paid tribute to him in a heartfelt Instagram post. Cassie described him as “a man of high principle, cool, calm, and intelligent, with an undying passion for making good films.”
“It is hard for some of us to see those who genuinely wish us well. You always dropped words of encouragement even when I was most silent. In an industry of snakes and scorpions, you stood different. To be kidnapped and killed is such a heart-wrenching way to leave this earth. We can all live and prosper. Goodnight, Vic,” she wrote.
Her post has sparked an outpouring of grief from colleagues, fans, and stakeholders across Nollywood, who have taken to social media to celebrate Vic Matt’s contributions to the industry and his mentorship of young talents.
