Adamawa Gov Raises Corps Members’ Allowance To ₦30,000

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved an upward review of the monthly allowance for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state, from ₦20,000 to ₦30,000.

The governor made the announcement on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2025 Batch B Stream I corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area.

Fintiri said the increment was in line with his administration’s commitment to the welfare of corps members and youth development in the state.

> “This increment aligns with our promise to create a friendly and supportive atmosphere for you,” he stated.

He disclosed that plans were underway for the construction of a new NYSC orientation camp in Adamawa and directed the NYSC State Coordinator to engage corps members with relevant qualifications—such as architects, civil engineers, and quantity surveyors—in the supervision of the project.

While welcoming the new corps members, the governor described them as vital partners in implementing key government programmes, particularly in the education sector. He urged them to embrace community development projects, maintain discipline, and cultivate healthy interactions during their service year.

The State Commissioner for Youths and NYSC Governing Board Chairman, Wali Yakubu, encouraged the corps members to adhere to camp regulations and prioritise skill acquisition for post-service self-reliance.

NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Osoro Caroline, commended the corps members’ discipline and lauded Governor Fintiri’s unwavering support, describing him as “a visionary leader and a beacon of youth empowerment in Nigeria.”

The ceremony featured the oath of allegiance administered by the Chief Judge of Adamawa, Justice Hapsat Abdurrahman, and the ceremonial presentation of the NYSC journal to the governor.
