President Bola Tinubu will confer national honours on 210 former members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in recognition of their exemplary service between 2020 and 2023.
This was disclosed in an official statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Mr Emeka Mgbemena.
According to the statement, the President’s NYSC Honours Award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Among the recipients are 200 ex-corps members who distinguished themselves across the four core pillars of the NYSC programme—namely, Orientation Course, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service, and Winding-Up/Passing-Out.
In addition, President Tinubu will also recognise 10 former corps members under the NYSC Hope Alive Initiative—a category reserved for those who sustained permanent disabilities while serving their nation.
The statement further noted that the Minister of Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande, the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier-General Olakunle Akinyemi Nafiu, and senior management of the scheme will be on hand to receive the honourees and guests at the high-level event.
