Six players from the Super Eagles of Nigeria have jointly donated ₦1 million each to every member of the Super Falcons squad, following their historic triumph at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that the contributors—William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo—pooled a total of ₦24 million to support the victorious team.
The Super Falcons clinched Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title in dramatic fashion on Saturday, coming from two goals down to defeat hosts Morocco 3–2 at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
Goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Jennifer Echegini sealed the Falcons’ comeback, solidifying their dominance in African women’s football.
