The Rivers State Police Command has declared two senior officials of the Ahoada East Local Government Area wanted for their alleged involvement in the violent assault on the council’s Sole Administrator, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor.
The individuals declared wanted are Mr Hector Ekakita, Chief Security Officer of Ahoada East LGA, and Mr Aloni Olodi, the council’s Chief of Staff.
This development was contained in an official statement released on Sunday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko.
According to the statement, the duo, along with a group of approximately 30 individuals, allegedly invaded the council secretariat on 20 June 2025, where they reportedly assaulted the Sole Administrator, inflicted bodily harm, carted away personal and official belongings, and coerced him into signing a resignation letter under duress.
Iheanachor, one of the 23 interim administrators appointed by the State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), remains hospitalised and is currently receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the attack.
The police said the two suspects have refused to honour a formal invitation to appear at the State Police Headquarters in Port Harcourt for questioning, prompting Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, to declare them wanted.
“The Rivers State Police Command has declared the following individuals wanted for criminal conspiracy, stealing, assault occasioning harm, and attempted murder in connection with the violent attack on the Sole Administrator of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hon. Goodluck Iheanachor,” the statement read.
The Command further noted that Mr Ekakita and Mr Olodi were identified as ringleaders in the mob attack that disrupted operations at the council secretariat and resulted in the theft of mobile phones, vital documents, and other official items.
“They are hereby advised, in their own interest, to report to the Police State Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, immediately,” Iringe-Koko stated.
The Police also warned that anyone found harbouring or aiding the wanted persons would be prosecuted by the law.
The Command urged members of the public with credible information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects to come forward or contact the Police State Headquarters through designated hotlines.
“The Rivers State Police Command remains committed to upholding law and order and will ensure that all those responsible for this criminal act are brought to justice,” the statement concluded.
